May's update on my Resolutions
1. Cease drinking soda. Urk. Soda is not fun. I had another glass from another bottle that Vince brought into the house. It did not sit well with me. Will I EVER learn my lesson??
2. Do not purchase new clothes for one year. New undergarments, but no new clothing!
3. Save the savings. Shopping early in May at Kroger yielded a savings of $20.13 and a later trip yielded a savings of $25.49 (that is already stashed in the secret money safe!)
4. Reduce my personal belongings. Caroline mentioned a yard sale, so I am saving items for that June activity. I pulled out two lightweight sweaters. Plus I cleaned out my classroom, removing two boxes of items that can find new homes, along with several items that found their way home with students! We also freecycled 14 5 gallon containers of floor primer that had been left here when we moved in.
5. Read at least 3 books to improve my teaching skills.
Still on hold!
6. Keep my tax records more organized for 2010. Progressing nicely
7. Walk 10,000 steps each day. Ah, Lenita and I finally connected and started walking in he mornings. I have worn my Pedometer for the past 2 days!
8. Reduce my fabric stash. Well.....I did go shopping for fabric. So, technically I added 20 yards to my stash. HOWEVER....the fabrics are for my mystery quilt and to finish my Skyward Nines quilt.
9. Make time for ME! Quilting would be the Me time this month. With nasty storms the weekend of May 1st, there was no car show, so I quilted. I finished several small quilts! Melody LOVED her green strings quilt. I also finished a Red/White/Blue quilt and a small brightly colored quilt that will probably go to charity. Jennifer's baby quilt is also quilted and awaiting its label. I finished quilting the Prairie Schooler quilt, put on the Prairie Points, the label and the binding.
AND...I finished piecing the star blocks for the Peacock Quilt I purchased in March 2009 when Vince and I drove through PA on our way to pick up my mom in NJ. I have cut out the sashing strips and the goal is to have the top finished before my Quiltaway weekend in June.
